RESTORE ENERGIZE SUSTAIN THANK
REST focuses on how to cultivate a culture of REST in participants' own lives to enhance their ability to give to others, lead and respond to an ever-growing list of demands.
REST can be applied across multiple sectors and groups; Possibilities’ initial focus for REST is non-profit executive directors and leaders, piloting the approach through the UWCO Executive Directors Association. Achieved in a group setting, REST allows leaders to offer support and accountability to one another. The more at peace the leaders of an organization are, the more that transmits to the remainder of the organization.
The REST workshop for 2025 will take place on Fridays, May 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th, from 9am to 11am at our office in the NewView Building at 4301 N Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
RESTORE:
Problem
Living in a world of disasters, illness and strife, our mind starts to operate on “fight or flight” constantly. The very instinct that protects us from danger ends up damaging us because we don’t shut it off.
Solution
Our systems are not designed to help us get out of “fight or flight” mode. So we have to develop a model of how to learn to get rest and reset in the middle of our lives.
Stop, breathe, and integrate.
Integrate all of our body, not just our mind!
Action
Exercises to connect to breath, body, and spirit.
ENERGIZE:
Problem
The constant grind of facing problems and our daily lives has many of us feeling anxious, tired, depressed, and hopeless.
Solution
We must believe that what we do matter. We have to find vision; We must learn to recreate and find moments in our busy schedules to honor our bodies.
Action
Putting moments into our schedules with the sole purpose of energy.
Learn the dynamics that steal our energy and the ones that give us energy.
SUSTAIN:
Problem
Even though we may find methods to reset our bodies and energize ourselves, how do we develop a pattern of intentional intent to keep REST in our lives. Our minds are very powerful and hard to control. Negative thoughts can dominate our thinking.
Solution
Finding ways to control our thinking. And dealing with those things in our subconscious that hinder us from living in the present.
Action
Meditations and journaling to help quiet mind. Talking about the monsters that live inside our minds and putting them to rest.
THANK:
Problem
Our finding fault and blame in all of our conversations drain our energy. Blame only makes you the prisoner of you becoming a victim.
Solution
Thankfulness is not a sweet slogan but a tool to help us find hope no matter how dire the situation. It’s not ignoring problems it’s finding hope by finding gratitude.
Action
Exercises that focus on being thankful, hopeful, and grateful.
